Origin
Tamegroute is a small village on the edge of the Sahara, in Morocco's Draa Valley. Its potters work clay dug from the surrounding land, a craft passed from one generation to the next for centuries and still practised today almost exactly as it always has been.

Process
Each piece is shaped by hand on a simple kick-wheel, then coated in a glaze built from copper and manganese oxides. It is fired in a wood-burning kiln, where smoke, heat and mineral meet in ways no potter fully controls.

Rarity
That lack of control is the point. No two pieces finish the same depth of green — each is a record of its own firing. It's a slow, low-tech process that has resisted mass production, which is exactly what makes it worth keeping alive.
